Gypsum Powder Production Line

Gypsum is a soft sulfate mineral composed of calcium sulfatedihydrate, with the chemical formula CaSO4·2H2O. To make gypsum as construction material, calcination process is needed, and part crystal water will be removed from gypsum. The calcined gypsum’s chemical formula is CaSO4· 1/2H2O.  It is widely used as raw material for gypsum board, plaster, cornice, school chalk, etc.

The gypsum board production line is composed of crushing system,  grinding system, calcining system, energy supply system, conveying system, packing system and storage system.

Working process of the production line

The basic process of making gypsum powder is:  gypsum rock —— crusher —— raw material silo —— grinder —— calcinor —— silo—— packing machine

Features of the gypsum powder production line

The calcination system is the key procedure of the production line. The vertical calcinor is used in the calcination system. The main body of the calcinor is composed of delicate and intensive radiation pipes, in which hot air goes.  Hot air is made inside the furnace by burning oil, natural gas, LPG or coal, and it circulates between the hot air furnace and the calcinor.  At the bottom of the calcinor is mounted a Roots blower, which blows the gypsum upwards through the space between the hot air pipes. The gypsum powder inside the calcinor is in a boiling state, so the calcinor is also called boiling furnace. Being heated, the gypsum powder becomes lighter and it goes out of the calcinor automatically.
